Drag Racing is as American as "Apple Pie" and is recognized as one of the nation's leading motorsport activities. The participants go from a standing start to the end of a quarter mile with the winner being the quickest through the finish line electronic traps.

The IHRA (International Hot Rod Association) and NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) will be in the running to be the sanctioning body for the drag racing venue at Top Gun. The IHRA racing program will feature fifteen (15) classes of competition: Top Fuel Dragster, Screaming Eagle Nitro Harley Motorcycles, Pro Modified, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Super Eliminator, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Modified, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod, Super Stock, Stock, and E.T. Bracket.

On the social Side, IHRA and NHRA are a melting pot of family activity, as pit areas are transformed into small communities during race weekend. The family spirit is alive at both organizations with racer picnics, fellowship and church service, all part of the racing experience.
