Phazer
Zone is a cross between paintball and laser
tag. It is played indoors in a black light
environment since the balls and vests are flourescent.
The advantage is the excitement of watching
the ball zip through the air like a shooting
star. Since the ball doesn't break (it is made
of reusable soft plastic) a vest that senses
impact is used to score the game. The vest
sends a radio signal to the score board each
time a scoring zone is hit on the front or
back of the vest. Instantly the board digitally
calls out which team was hit and scores points
for the other team.
Because Phazer Zone players hide to prevent impacts, the game arena is smaller than most laser tag areas (1600 to 3000 sq.ft.) and holds more players in that space (up to 20). It is an open playing field that is spectator friendly like that of the Top Gun Pursuit Paintball park. This also allows players to see the scoreboard throughout the game. At the end of the game, all players know which team won since the scoreboard announces the winner and the score is clearly displayed. The Phazer Zone has a new innovation using tennis balls for the 6 and under crowd. |
